WEEK 1: 6/8/15 - 6/12/15

  • Sunday June 7, 2015: Arrival and move-in (Leonardtown Residence Hall).
  • Monday June 8, 2015:
    • 8:00 - 8:30 - Coffee and light breakfast - Faculty Lounge (32010
    • 8:30am - 11:50am: Welcome, Program Orientation and Overview in Room 3206
    • 12:00pm - 1:00pm: Lunch (provided by the department), Faculty Lounge
    • 1:00 - 1:45pm - See Monday's Schedule, picture IDs, etc.
    • 2:00pm - 4:00pm: Group meetings.
  • For the rest of the week each research group will meet.
  • Friday June 12, 2015:
    • 1:00pm - 2:00pm. What is? Seminar in room 3206. Speaker: Dr. L. Washington, UMD.
    • 2:00pm - 3:00pm. Welcome reception. Math Rotunda.

WEEK 2: 6/15/15 - 6/19/15

  • Weekly meeting for each research group will be scheduled. Activities for the week will be discussed.
  • Thursday June 18, 2015: 1:00pm - 3:30pm: Update Seminar (room 3206 Math Bldg). Each group will have up to 25 minutes to share with everyone what its members will be working on.
  • Friday June 19, 2015: 1:00pm - 2:00pm What is? Seminar in room 3206. Speaker: Dr. C. Laskowski, UMD. Title: A polynomial that enumerates the primes. Refreshments after the talk.

WEEK 3: 6/22/15 - 6/26/15

  • Weekly meeting for each research group will be scheduled. Activities for the week will be discussed.
  • Thursday afternoon soccer game will be coordinated with Liam. In addition, Anna  suggested that we have a movie night Thursday at 7:30pm (after the soccer game). She set up a poll at  http://www.rkursem.com/poll/view.php?id=8d900d4723d202398.  Please take a minute to record your preference. We'll provide some popcorn and beverage.
  • Friday June 26, 2015: 1:00pm - 2:00pm. What is? Seminar in room 3206. Speaker: Dr. P-E Jabin, UMD. Title: Mixing properties of flows: From ODE's to Fluid Mechanics. Refreshments after the talk.
